How Packaging Robot works
The operator console shows all the applications that are to be automatically repackaged, in a single overview. It is a structured list with all relevant information, such as the status of the application and the basic properties. All applications are automatically retrieved from the workflow tool Process Manager.
Install and configure an application with Packaging Robot
An application is easily dealt with by dragging and dropping it from the overview to one of the repackaging workstations listed. Packaging Robot prepares the workstation, after which the one and only manual operation needed is: the installation and configuration of the application. This has to be done only once for all the corporate PCs, whether you have 10 PCs or tens of thousands of PCs. This therefore saves you a lot of time and costs when deploying the application.
Above all, with Packaging Robot multiple packages can be created at the same time for maximum efficiency. You don’t need to wait until a particular MSI, App-V or ThinApp is ready before you start to package the next one.
Automatic documentation of application packages
The Packaging Robot’s auto-doc module automatically documents all installation options. Creating installation descriptions is as easy as falling off a log. The advanced repackager engine in Packaging Robot then generates an MSI package.
ICE validation and quality Assurance of software packages
The speed and reliability are unparalleled. Packaging Robot alters thousands of settings, based on best practices and packaging guidelines. Since experienced application managers have been populating the database, an accessible database has been built up that is directly applicable to any package. The ICE validation that Microsoft developed and the Quality Assurance validation guarantee that the MSI and Microsoft App-V is correctly constructed. Any faults that are found are automatically repaired by Packaging Robot.
The result: a reliable and stable application to be distributed to your users.
